Readings, Prayers and Responses are below for those who were unable to attend services today; may you be blessed by it. Today we also mark Remembrance Sunday; in which we honor the many servicemen and women who have served their countries with honor and faithfulness, especially those who have given their lives. We also lift up a special prayer today for the people of the Philippines, who have been hit by such a horrific storm. May the Lord comfort and guide them, give them His peace, and plant within His people throughout the world the desire (and follow through) to help those stricken by this storm in whatever way they can. 10 November Morning Prayer Opening Sentence Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:2 Confession Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor. Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. Reading Ezra 10:1-17 1 While Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a very great assembly of men, women, and children gathered to him out of Israel; the people also wept bitterly. 2 Shecaniah son of Jehiel, of the descendants of Elam, addressed Ezra, saying, We have broken faith with our God and have married foreign women from the peoples of the land, but even now there is hope for Israel in spite of this. 3 So now let us make a covenant with our God to send away all these wives and their children, according to the counsel of my lord and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law. 4 Take action, for it is your duty, and we are with you; be strong, and do it. 5 Then Ezra stood up and made the leading priests, the Levites, and all Israel swear that they would do as had been said. The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. The Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
