Set the captives free... All Christians face the fiercest battle that mankind has ever faced; the battle for souls. Its more than life and death; its eternal life and death. Jesus, our Commander and Chief has won the battle for the right of freedom, freedom for all of mankind no matter what their race, colour or creed. We now fight for the right to free others that are bound, enslaved, entrapped and blinded. The commission given by Jesus to go is a rescue mission that will provide eternal life and true freedom from tyranny, bondage, slavery and blindness. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted and to announce that captives shall be released and the blind shall see, that the downtrodden shall be freed from their oppressors, and that God is ready to give blessings to all who come to him.” Luke.4:18-19. TLB A problem still exists today... The children of Israel thought that when the Messiah comes he would free them from all tyranny and oppression. In a sense, when he did come 2000 years ago he did set us free but not the way the Jews thought it would happen. There are many Christians today who are not free of bondages, oppression and tyranny; because they think they are meant to free the world from all these injustices. Even if the abolition of slavery never took place their true freedom is in Christ Jesus alone. WE ARE FREE NO MATTER WHAT SITUATION WE ARE IN AMEN!
