Seven!!! 1. When I was given the number 7, my memory immediately redirected to That Episode of Friends. 2. I will not use closed-parenthesis in this list, because when number 8 comes up, everyone will think Ive skipped number 8 in favor of a smiley face wearing sunglasses. Except that I wont get to number 8, because my number is 7. 3. I love The West Wing. And Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. And The Newsroom. And The Social Network. I do not, however, love Sports Night. 4. Many evenings while watching The West Wing with Paul, when the end-of-episode credits roll, I wonder how Ive missed the entire episode. Until I look back at my phone and/or computer screen. Then I remember that technology has very nearly completely robbed me of what little ability I had to multitask in the first place. 5. I hold characters in shows to an unfair double standard: If I like the character, I only like the character. Hence my love for Avner, but not Eric Bana. However, if I hate the character, as I hate Kate (LOST), Gemma (SoA), and Cersei (GoT), I also hate the actor and have to exercise great determination in order to keep from wishing ill will upon them, or celebrating their real-life bad news (like when I cried, JUSTICE! when I learned Cerseis actor lady was flat broke from a nasty divorce). 6. While I myself joke often about My List (the celebrity one), I take it way too personally and often punish my husband when he off-handedly mentions who is or is not included on his. I do the same thing when he does something mean to me in my dreams. Some mornings, when he hands me coffee and is greeted with a scowl, his immediate response is, Great, what did I fake-do this time? 7. On a more serious note, Im striving to make a practice of learning from the people who disagree with me, allowing their points to challenge my own, and no matter what regard them as Christ did: worthy of the trade He made on the Cross of His own life for theirs. I fail almost every time. Be patient. By the time I die, my hope is to be up to a 4% success rate.
