Sever the Tie: Time to rise The world entices us to remain connected to its empty pleasures, material things, instant gratification and judgment. To sever ties from worldly things we must realize in what ways we are specifically attached. We must ask, “What comes up when we consider leaving worldly things and truly following God?” and, “What would we miss?” As we take inventory of things we cling to, we find they are not truly fulfilling and are distracting us from our relationship with God. God did not design us to live in a place of pain and insufficiency. He wants us to notice the devil’s subtle maneuvers that distract and blind us on our journey. Living life tethered to the world is the default we are all born into. God is showing us how to get to the root the problem and remove it at the source. God is calling us out of darkness; He is lifting the veil. Sever the Tie.Many people must experience a crisis before they are ready to completely lean on God for help and guidance. God doesn’t want us to experience pain, so He is urging us to turn to Him before this difficulty arises. If we choose to refrain from fleshly things before a moment of crisis, we will experience the fullness of life Jesus promised us with less pain and struggle.
