Several days ago I received an email from a grandmother that lost her son due to a car accident. She requested I call her regarding the alleged grandparents rights bill (HB289). Knowing this bill is unconstitutional and will only further destroy the family unit and children in Alabama, I pondered what to say. After praying for guidance, I called tonight and below is a summary of our conversation. I had an awesome conversation with a grandparent that lost her son due to a vehicle accident and desire access to your grandchildren. But she stated the legislators will not get her vote by attempting to further exhaust her life savings and destroying families. So they might as well let the alleged grandparents’ rights bill (HB289) die. She stated two attorneys already have stolen her and her ex-sister in law life savings and have further destroyed their family. This bill will only benefit the attorneys. She shared, she’s 100% in support of the Alabama Family Rights Association (ALFRA) mission. Please let us know what we can do to help.
