Several weeks ago the Supreme Court struck down Massachusetts law that created a safe buffer zone around reproductive health clinics. In the wake of this decision, the legislature followed the Courts guidance and crafted a new bill that permits freedom of expression while focusing on protecting the physical safety of clinic visitors and the public. Last night I voted in favor of the bill which passed the House with an overwhelming majority. Free speech is important. So is a womans right to access healthcare free from physical harassment.
