Sh312 million vegetable market opened in Gatundu FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 29 2013 BY NJENGA GICHEHA Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday led a delegation of Kiambu county officials to open the Sh312 million fresh produce market in Gatundu South constituency. During the ceremony held at Gatundu Stadium, Ruto said the government is committed to boosting village economy. He lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for the market. “I am thanking former President Kibaki and Uhuru for the market. There are many Economic Stimulus Package markets that were being constructed but just a few were completed,” Ruto said. “The remaining work will be done by the county government.” The DP was accompanied by Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, his deputy Gerald Githinji, Senator Kimani Wamatangi, womens representative Ann Nyokabi, Gatundu South MP Joseph Ngugi, Gatanga MP Roho Safi Njuguna, Kiambu town MP Jude Njomo and Kiambu TNA chairman Kuria Josiah. Ruto said that with the Uwezo fund for women and youth, Gatundu residents will be able to eke a good living out of farming products.
