Shabir Shah visits family of Shaheed Ishfaq Malik, pays glowing tributes ‘It’s due to martyrs’ sacrifices Kashmir issue rose to Int’l level’ Welcomes statements of Sartaj Aziz, General Raheel Shareef Srinagar, Jan 17: Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah on Saturday visited Arwani and Maran Batwan to express condolence with the family of Shaheed Ishfaq Ahmad Malik. Shah was accompanied by Islamic Political Party chairman Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, JKLF-R general secretary Wajahat Qureshi, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo and Bilal Ahmad Shah of Muslim League, Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, Muhammad Yusuf, Mushtaq Ahmad, Muhammad Amin and other party activists of Freedom Party. On the occasion, Shabir Ahmad Shah while paying glorious tributes to martyrs said it is due to their invaluable sacrifices that Kashmir issue is being discussed at international level. He said that for a great cause of freedom, we are committed to the mission of our martyrs. Lauding the role of Pakistan with regards to resolution of Kashmir issue, Shah expressed hope that Pakistan will continue its overwhelming political, diplomatic and moral support to us and play its role in resolving the crucial issue of Kashmir. In this connection, Shah applauded the statements of Pakistan Prime Minister’s security advisor Mr Sartaj Aziz and Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Shareef in London. He termed the statements as ‘encouraging’ and said Mr Sartaj Aziz made it clear to India that Kashmir is the core issue between them and it has a crucial importance. “Pakistan speaks the voice of Kashmiris and we hope it continues its support in future. India should respond positively to the statements of Sartaj Aziz and General Raheel Shareef to resolve the Kashmir issue at earliest in order to prevent the subcontinent from turning into battlefield between the two nations.” Expressing serious grief over the loss of lives in valley, Shah said had Kashmir issue been resolved in the light of historical realities, such bloodbath would never have been taking place here. Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah expressed serious resentment over the harassment of a renowned religious preacher of Pakherpora Molvi Mudassir Ahmad by police and condemned the act severely. He said that to prevent anyone from paying of tributes to Shopian martyrs or delivering speech in this regard once again proves that valley is actually run by police. “Banning the free speech here continues. Such acts by police are intolerable,” Shah added.
