Shadow is a 9 year old Rottweiler mix who is almost out of time. He came to the Manhattan shelter on 11-12 as a stray and his out date is tomorrow. We need to get him out the right way and not in a body bag. Yes, this boys on the kill list and if we dont find a foster or adopter and a New Hope Partner to pull him it will be the end for Shadow . So please share and advocate for Shadow tonight before it is to late. A volunteer writes: Shadow, a 9 year old Rotweiler mix was found as a stray, most likely close to his house with housemate Casey, a lovely 4 year old and very sweet manicured brindle female. Shadow is an unusual looking dog with very intense eyes, a human square face and a greying muzzle. He could be a figure in a mythology book. His coat is thick but was inhabited by fleas and ridden of them at the care center. He could have been a yard dog while Casey might have been kept inhouse. Shadow was rather upset when he arrived at our facility. He has very much calmed down since then. I always have fed him little treats that he took, surprisingly very delicately . Taking him out is no problem. He does not mind barking dogs and keeps to himself. He walks very nicely on the leash and eliminates on the way. He sits on command by my side and accepts my caresses.. Shadow is a very patient pooch. He really has a good and huge face, so expressive and strangely endearing, well, at least to me... He does not mind the camera pointed at him. I like this big bear of a dog who has some issues with guarding his meal...like so many Rotweilers. I wish we would know more about him, this could maybe give him a chance to start his life all over again. Shadow is at the Manhattan Care Center, sitting patiently in his kennel, waiting for something good to happen..
