Shahrukh Khan made his Bollywood debut with Deewana in 1992. He played a lover boy in the film which won him several awards and instant recognition. He married Gauri Khan on 25 October 1991 with whom he has two kids, Suhana and Aryan. The actor started acting his career by being a part of famous of television series Fauji (1988). He was also seen portraying a very important role in Circus (1989). Khan already had a theatre background when he joined TV and films. He underwent an extensive training in theatre under the mentorship of Barry John. Shahrukh Khan’s mother Lateef Fatima always thought that her son had a striking resemblance with yesteryear actor Dilip Kumar. King Khan proved his mom right that he was destined to be a great actor when he won his first Filmfare Award for best debut (Deewana) in 1993. By taking up films like Darr and Baazigar, the actor surprised everyone with his unconventional choices. He played these negative roles with absolute elan and won accolades for his performances. SRK reached the peak of his career as Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge released in 1995. Since then he and Kajol (his co-star) in the film are considered as one of the best looking jodis in B-town. The two appeared together in films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hain and My Name Is Khan and are still considered as one the most sought-after onscreen couples of B-town. The actor tried his hand at playing a superhero and doing a hardcore sci-fi film in 2011 (RA.One), but unfortunately it didn’t garner great numbers at the BO.
