“Shamans ARE NOT vegetarians or vegans” I will talk about - TopicsExpress

“Shamans ARE NOT vegetarians or vegans” I will talk about shamans and not about gurus or healers. I will also talk about: “the reasons for being a vegetarian or vegan” from a shamanic point of view. I won’t say its wrong or its right. IT’S A DECISION. But also in this subject there is misinformation and a lot of judgment for the people who has chooses to eat meat. It’s a silence war between meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans and this must stop, is not helping nature. We have lots the connection with our food when we had let go the shamanism and lost our shamans in our communities. We are the responsible for the pain that’s going on and when we become consciousness about the importance of shamanism must return to reconnect us , then we will start to do the corrections that we need. The comfortable life that each of us has choose, have disconnect us from nature - in order to have all the comfort that cities provides you: electricity for have a refrigerator that you will fill with food that you buy from the supermarkets because you don’t have time for provide yourself with food, because you must work 8 hours every day in order to get these comfort. The same with all the others subjects that rules our every day life, we have give up our power of be INDEPENDENTS and INTERCONNECTED for be a DEPEND race of the corporations and governments desires: what we had done to ourselves? . So this problems won’t be solve by become vegetarians or vegans. A real shaman knows how to provide their own food. All the good shamans that I had meet are hunting or are fishing their own food, and as well growing the vegetables , if they have the resources and depending where they are living, shamans in northern Greenland just eat meat . For me the experience of fishing has also helped me to develop my connection with water and other elements. When you are fishing you learn, how to read the water, and the weather conditions. You need to become “the fish” and this is how shamanism works. I can feel where are the better areas, where the fishes would like most at the moment of that day. And then when you got them out of the water you never feel sorry, or apologies, you thank the life of that fish because will provides you energy. When you kill an animal you understand life and, how fabulous is our existence on earth. That our bodies are containers, than contains a great source,- THE SOUL - , the spirit and you can see when its gone trough the eyes. It’s the light that disappears from this reality to pass to another that is better. Life is a cycle. Death is not bad. It’s a process, a continuation. We had never really born; we are constantly dying since we came to earth. When you are living the real shamanic life, you understand that everything that surround you in nature is ALIVE and HAVE A CONSCIOUSNESS : animals, plants, even rocks, just because they don’t move fast does not mean that they are not alive , they are just having a different experience on earth. Shamanism was born in the hunting cultures. Is the pain of an animal a reason to become a vegetarian or vegan? No, its not. Everything that is ALIVE CAN EXPERIENCE PAIN and EMOTIONS, but this is not a bad thing, it’s one of the reasons why we are here, for FEEL. Plants can also FEEL, just we can not listen to their pain, but they can feel it. Its trough the pain that we know that is better to feel LOVE. It’s a different thing the source from where the pain is coming like the factories -where they are killing the animals-. There is not respect, not consideration with the way of killing an animal anymore. In the shamanic traditions the animal must die fast and with the less pain possible. In the Sami tradition for example, they kill the reindeers by first cutting the nervous system and then with a knife in the hearth and they wait until the animal does not move the eyes anymore, then they can take care of the meet and everything else. They use every single part, to honour the animal, the skin, the meat, and the antlers. And this is how is use to be when the shamans were actively working in the communities. Nowadays even the vegetables are starting to be dishonoured in the way they are being growing. People are poisoning the vegetables with chemicals in order to make them look pretty, and this is not good. There are a lots lands and forest being burning right now in the Amazon, in Africa, in Asia in order to grow vegetables. We must find the BALANCE, in OURSELVES because it´s from this where all the problems come. The problem is not the people who is eating meat or vegetables, the problem is how it’s being done?. If you want to make a change and help nature : start to collaborate in your community with farming projects, with permaculture. Start being active in politics. We must stop the corporations way of producing meat and vegetables. And the must important is to start to connect with nature truly. It’s easy to say how beauty is nature trough a car or a house window view, but to live in nature is a different experience and that is what shamanism is about. Thanks.
