Shame on you, world. This is a typically misinformed, fanatical, shortsighted green campaign that will do so much global harm. Since the end of the whaling industry in Australia 20 years ago, whale populations in the southern ocean have been burgeoning out of control. As we know, and what green peace doesnt want you to know, is that this has crippled krill populations, turning the massive stores of carbon that are held in the krill exoskeleton, back into atmospheric greenhouse gases. This alone has depleted 18.7% of the entire worlds carbon stores (thats the equivalent of fifty amazon rainforests!). Japan was the only nation that possessed the constitution to methodically and precisely control whale numbers in the worlds largest carbon sink. And now the self acclaimed sea shepherd will be the end of a thousand more species than they ever made millions of dollars pretending to save. Now for the flip side, Japan never wasted the by product of its environmental management, no sir! They found many uses for whale products that replaced high power usage, disposable products, particularly in the prosthetic limb industry. Baleen is structurally as strong as chrome, but flexible to provide much more dexterity and cushion for long limbs like arms, legs, and even as support for the spine. In the joints ambergris was found to be a fantastic lubricant providing zero friction and almost infinite life. To medicine; whale oil is the only clinically proven cure for leprosy, and while theres been supply of whale oil worldwide this debilitating disease has been kept in check. No more. This 5000 year old scourge will now return and the big pharmaceutical companies will make billions from your ignorance. Faith in humanity ruined. Not one human, nor ecosystem and all its constituents wins from this decision. Only the bank accounts of sea shepherd and greenpeace benefit.
