To my kinsmen, HAPPY SATOWAN LIBERATION DAY! As we celebrate this important day of our history, may we uphold love, respect, and unity. Today we may be celebrating with abundance of food and whatsoever, but lets not forget what our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents had to endure prior to the day to be declared Liberation Day as they set foot on the shore of Satowan island again, and the days after - rebuilding and re-cultivating the land that we now share and call it home. Lets remember our elders, honor them, and perpetuate their legacies left behind. This day has always been filled with mixed feelings - grief and happiness, but it is indeed our Satowan Liberation - Celebration Day. Let us celebrate not the replacement of one nations flag by another in our territory, but the rightful ownership of land and seas given back into our stewardship to sustain our God-given identity and values. Let us be good stewards. Let us not stop loving and caring. Let us continue to respect one another. Lets be givers of peace and unity in our homes overflowing into the streets and to our neighbors.
