Sharing Your Story Scripture reading: Acts 22:3–15 Key verse: Acts 22:10 So I said, “What shall I do, Lord?” And the Lord said to me, “Arise and go into Damascus, and there you will be told all things which are appointed for you to do.” Do you remember what your life was like before you asked Jesus to be your Savior? You might have looked “good” on the outside, yet struggled with strong urges on the inside. How did you feel when the burden of all the guilt was lifted away? It was wonderful, wasn’t it? That is your testimony. A testimony is not just a superdramatic story told by someone who committed high-profile sins and then came to the Lord. This kind of conversion experience, like Paul’s on the road to Damascus, may be the kind with which you are most familiar. You may even feel inferior or insecure about your story, secretly believing that it is not interesting enough. Once you believe in the inefficacy of your story, you are more hesitant to tell it and could even come to question the validity of your salvation experience. What a sad condition. If only you could grasp that the grace that Jesus gave to you is the same grace He pours on all His people. As an aid to remembering the tremendous work Christ has done and is continuing to do, make a list of transformations that you noticed in your heart and behavior. Then pause to give Him thanks for each one, and ask the Lord for an opportunity to share with someone who needs to hear exactly your story. Lord, thank You for the changes You have made in my life. Give me the opportunity to share with someone who needs to hear my story.
