Sharing from Parents & Educators against the Daniels & Bennett Educational Reform: Derek Redelman, VP education and workforce development for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, who has been known for his near- bullying methods of pushing ed reform in Indiana, has made this idiotic quote in an article published in “Indypolitics” about the tension between the SBOE and Glenda Ritz: “But all of that changed after the 2012 election with the retirement of Gov. Daniels and the defeat of Bennett. Without their leadership, the opposition to the Common Core State Standards was allowed to fester and, ultimately, forced the state to dump its plans for standards and assessments.” Gee, Derek, since 1.3 million Hoosiers voted for Glenda Ritz, don’t you think the opposition to Common Core was already festering? Don’t you understand that Hoosiers were sick and tired of the tyrannical “leadership” of Daniels and Bennett that only permitted “festering” and not intelligent discourse on the subject? And here is a news flash for you…..Glenda Ritz is simply doing what the voters of Indiana asked her to do. This is a little thing called democracy. If Mr. Redelman’s logic is an example of how Fred Klipsch and his “IQ4E” group are re-grouping to push ed reform in Indiana, then they may as well pack up and go home today. Oh, and Derek..you are not more than Just Political.
