Sharing my study of Hebrews from the book, "Thru the Bible" - J Vernon McGee Hebrews 10:21-22 (KJV) 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. In the Old Testament times there were priests and there was a high priest. The priests’ duties included presenting sacrifices daily. Only the high priest was allowed into the Presence of God – the Holy of Holies, and that was only once a year. This Epistle of Hebrews shows that Christ Jesus has become our once-for-all High Priest and is now seated on the right-hand of God. John Calvin, (1509-1564) a great theologian, taught that every believer now has the position of a priest. When Moses dedicated the priests for service he sprinkled them with water. So, if we, as believers, are members of the priesthood we can come before God “…in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” “In full assurance of faith…” Do you have faith? What is the object of that faith? Do you believe in God? So does Satan. How then can one take that step of faith that will save from sin and give eternal life? Not by stepping out into the unknown, but faith comes by knowledge of God and His Word. Romans 10:17 (KJV) "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." “22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,” If you are taking your first step of faith in Jesus Christ, tell someone.
