Sharing of a fb fren I have a concern for quite long time but not sure if this is the right channel for me to express. Im not an amritdhari but I guess I can still put down my opinion about Sikhi here. Ive grown up visiting Gurdwaras most of the time and since young I love to listen to Ardas. For some time now, in Ardas, names of those contributed for Degh are mentioned and at times the list is way too long. In my opinion, Waheguru is jani jaan, so why we need to mention the names? Ive even heard people commenting, why my names was not mentioned or at times people give degh because want their names to be mentioned so that the family who hosted the programme will know. Gurdwaras in my hometown (Ipoh), do not mentioned names in the Ardas but now even in Ipoh they started to do the same. Is it a guideline from Sikh Organisation, am not sure. I hope we can sincerely contribute in any way we can rather than for name sake.
