Sharing some moments from our Children’s Grief Group... A group of women made these soft, beautiful quilts for the children to be used during the relaxation activity, allowing them to center themselves before diving into grief work. They represent comfort and warm hugs from their loved ones. They were also asked to bring a piece of fabric, of their loved one, so that a pocket could be stitched, and by the end of our last week, the children were able to wrap themselves in the quilts, and put their hands in the pockets, feeling as though they were holding hands with their loved ones. The balloons represent their worries and pain, which were released to help them let go.
