Sharing this comment I made on the post below because I think its really important: I think the other thing that gets me is this all these popular people did was (fill in the blank but usually its having boobs) or all I have to do to be popular in this game is (fill in the blank but, again, usually its having boobs), and just... thats not the case. Its not like the likes of Yaya Han or Jessica Nigri Fan Page or Ivy Doomkitty appeared yesterday, theyve been doing this for years, they go to a ton of conventions, have a bunch of new costumes, sell prints and accessories, and just... its a business for them, and they work hard at it, just like I do when I go to conventions with my work. Though my ultimate hatred is when people are like, I love your cosplay youre not some vapid pinup model like Jessica Nigri, and just... what? Why do you have to insult her to build me up? What does that accomplish? What did she do to deserve that? What are you basing your opinion off of? Her appearance? How is it that you can defend me when I talk about people judging me based on my appearance but then you slam her for the same thing? Defending my fat or my black does not me you get to bash the thin white girl, it just doesnt.
