Shariq addresses workers in Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora Srinagar, Apr 1 (KNS): National Conference Leader, Member Parliament and the NC-Congress Candidate from the Baramulla Parliamentary Seat, Sharif-ud-din Shariq presided over various workers meetings for Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora Districts today and asked the workers to work with utmost commitment and passion to ensure that National Conference emerges victorious with a huge margin in the coming elections. According to a statement issued to KNS, speaking at various venues, Shariq said that the Parliamentary Elections provided an opportunity to the people of Jammu & Kashmir to make a distinction between friends and foes and to stop the march of communal and divisive entities so that the special status and honor of Jammu & Kashmir could be safeguarded at all costs. Shariq said that the performance of National Conference MPs in Delhi was exemplary in how they utilized the MP funds for development works in their respective areas and how they unappolegetically spoke up for the people of their State in debates and discussion in the Lok Sabh. Shariq said that unlike Mehbooba Mufti, who chose to shy away from speaking up for the people of Kashmir during her tenure as an MP, National Conference leaders put forth the greivances, aspirations and needs of their people with utmost integrity. Addressing workers, Shariq said that the NC-Congress Coalition Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had changed the entire discourse of politics in the State by ushering J&K into an era of transparency and accountability. It is Omar Abdullah who chose to decentralize power, bring in the Right to Information Act, the Public Services Guarantee Act and empower the Panchayats to bring governance at the doorsteps of the people.
