She is the most beautiful woman I know. Inside and out. This - TopicsExpress

She is the most beautiful woman I know. Inside and out. This random kid I met, 24 years ago. When I first saw her 24 years ago, she annoyed me. She cried all the time, she always fought with me, she demanded attention from everyone, she was always coming face to face with something and she had an appetite like an ox. 24 years later, she still cries, but cries and advocates for the rights of underprivileged children; she still fights, but has fought and continues to fight years of illness with grace and maturity and resilience I only dream of emulating during my hardships; she still demands attention but demands attention to be heard because she has something to say; she still comes face to face with everything but now has come face to face with her own mortality, and turned to look the other way, tracing an incredibly difficult path without showing any degree of complacency or anguish. And she still has an appetite…(yes, this really hasn’t changed) the same McDonalds appetite to learn with an insatiable, voracious appetite. She has had a real claim on me. She has exercised my empathy, she has made me over completely, my emotions, my sense of proportion, my narrative abilities, and my habit of mind. I have never been more proud of you. Your life story has been my greatest source of inspiration to be a better human being. She aight I guess. Happy Birthday to this kid, my younger sister, my best friend, Samar Shaikh P.S. I will not paint my nails with any sort of zoo animal, fictional character, cupcakes, or glitter. This post is my manicure.
