She made us feel ashamed A HUGE incident took place last week - TopicsExpress

She made us feel ashamed A HUGE incident took place last week but, unfortunately, we did not pay attention to it as our feelings have apparently become tedious and dull. In addition, we have become secluded thinking wrongfully that we are the core of the globe because of our small problems, our seasonal elections and the holy month of Ramadan which passes annually; yet, our life becomes more and more dull. Our women are busy thinking of their evening gowns and selecting two meals for breakfast and ‘sohour’, which they did not cook, they just ordered them. Moreover, we are busy exchanging visits to diwaniyas. This is our life as if it is a circle! The incident, which took place and we did not unluckily pay any attention to, was the brutal attack by a policeman, who belongs to our wise government’s Interior Ministry, against a foreign innocent woman. This cop, who is very courageous, beat a Filipina severely and brutally in one of the Municipality branches where she underwent medical examination that led her to the hospital as she sustained injuries, bruises and fractures. This Filipina is called ‘Jenny’. She is the mother of three children and she worked as a secretary in her country. She left her homeland and her three children to come to the Kuwaiti paradise to improve the standard of living of her small family. She joined one of the Kuwaiti sports clubs as a coach. We hope our good ladies and girls, who did not quiver from the tragedy of ‘Jenny’, imagine that one day their country runs out of oil and they have to leave their children in Kuwait to travel to a foreign or GCC country to work there. We want them only to imagine this or leave their imagination to think about this ‘black’ image freely. In our country, in which thousands of citizens are proud of paying charity and aid to people in the East and West who came to ease our life burdens and make us lead a luxurious life, they are beaten and tortured. The story was narrated completely in Al-Watan Arabic daily on July 19, 2013 and it caused great turmoil on the Filipino street, which got furious and demanded withdrawing the Filipino personnel from Kuwait at a time Jenny, the mother of three children, is lying in the hospital suffering from her pains and injuries. In addition, she may not be able to resume her sports work because of the great harm she experienced! Here, we have the right to ask: What did the Interior Ministry do through its minister, who is First Deputy Premier, against the sinful cop who harmed this innocent lady? We hope Jenny will take her right from this violator, besides getting the appropriate compensation from him or his employer - the Interior Ministry which showed leniency towards its employees, up to the extent that they dared commit such malpractices and behaviors which we see in police and dictatorial countries and blame them. Jenny is lying in bed and the injured said: “What I experienced nobody can imagine it. I want justice only. I was beaten inside a government institution which should be safer. I was beaten inside the headquarters of the Municipality in front of many people.” The strangest thing is that none of the women societies or human rights organizations has shown any concern for the case of Jenny, the Filipina and mother of three children that one of our brave policemen has beaten. It is very shameful.
