“She would have used her powers to undermine the Board but to her that did not count. This is the kind of leadership that Malawians want. I urge other unregistered NGOs to emulate this. Actually, the Board feels empowered by this gesture to ensure we strongly enforce the law. Beam submitted the request to register way before its launch and met all the conditions. A certificate has been issued and has been given a charity number which mandates it to raise funds within Malawi and any part of the world. This also means they are a legal entity and allowed to operate in the country.
