Sakina word wrote about six times in the Quran, which is the Surah al-Baqarah: 248, At-Tawbah: 26 and Surah al-Fath: 4, 18 and 26. In the text of the verse in question, Sakinah ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala comes into the hearts of the prophets and those who believe to be strong and not be afraid of opposition, resistance, tests, trials or misfortunes. Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said to them: The sign of the Ark will come to you where there is tranquility from your Lord and a relic of the family of Moses and the family of Aaron, borne by angels. Al-Qurtubi mentions in his famous exegesis, in explanation of the verse, that by Wahab ibn Munnabih, Sakinah is a spirit from ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala spoke, and, in the case of Israel, where people do not agree on certain issues , spirit came to explain the situation, and used to be the source of their victory in the war. According to Ali r.a, Sakinah is a breeze / wind sweet, a human face. Mujahid said that when Sakina looked at the enemy, they were defeated, and ibn Atiyyah mention of the Ark of the Covenant (at-Ark), which is linked to Sakina, a life that is in it peace, warmth, friendship and strength. Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj said Nishapuri in Sahih al-Bukhari, that a certain man (at the time of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w), was reading the Surah al-Kahf of the Quran with the horses tied, and because he had read, the clouds swept him, that surrounds and down, the sight caused his horse to jump and move, and so when morning came he went to Muhammad s.a.w and told him what happened, Muhammad s.a.w replied that it was Sakinah down to the Quran. According to Sunni tradition, when Muhammad s.a.w was persecuted in Mecca and its time for him to migrate to Madinah, he took temporary refuge with friends Abu Bakr in the cave Thawr. Looking to be hidden from the Makkans who were looking for him, it is on Thawr where ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala revealed HIS Sakina on them, protect them from their enemies. According to the Sufis, it is on Thawr that Abu Bakr r.a was blessed with the divine mystery of the transmission of his way to make the second generation Naqshbandi Sufism. It is an experience that brings the second Caliph Umar r.a said that all good can not stand to be equivalent to a single force Abu Bakr r.a friendship with Muhammad s.a.w in the cave Thawr. Mohammeds grandson Hussein ibn Ali was named as one of his daughters Sakina. He died tragically in a Syrian prison. while imprisoned members of Husseins family, mostly women and children, who survived the Battle of Karbala. He was the first person in the history of Islam has been named Sakina. It is now a popular female name in most Islamic cultures. While the tradition of our brethren from Judaism, the Shekinah, Shechinah, or Schechinah Shechina [Hebrew: שכינה], is the spelling of English grammar to refer the ancient Hebrew feminine grace ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala. Original meaning of the word is residential or a solution, and indicates the presence of a living or fixing the Divine, the ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala, especially in the Temple in Jerusalem. In etymology, the Shekinah is derived from the Hebrew verb שכן. In the Hebrew Bible that the Semitic root means literally to settle, inhabit, or permanent, and often used in the Hebrew Bible. In Mishnaic Hebrew, the noun is often used to refer to nesting birds and their nests. (Every bird nests [shekinot] with its kind, and the man with the like, Talmud Baba Kammah 92B.) And can also mean neighbor ( If a neighbor and a scholar, scholar is preferred Talmud Ketubot 85B). Words of Temple Mishkan, is a derivative of the same root and is used in the sense of place of residence in the Bible, eg Psalm 132:5 (Before I find a place for God, mishkanot (residence) for a Strong Israel.) Then , in classic Jewish thought, Shekinah refers to a shelter or live in a special sense, residence or settle the presence of the Divine, which means that, while in close proximity to the Shekinah, your relationship to God is easier to see. Some Christian theologians have connected the concept of the Shekinah to the Greek term parousia, presence and arrival, which is used in the New Testament in the same way for Divine Presence. Shekinah meaning in Judaism held by some to represent the feminine attributes of the presence of the ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala [Shekinah be feminine word in Hebrew], based on the reading of the Talmud. The manifestation of the Shekinah is referred to as manifest in the Tabernacle and the Temple in Jerusalem throughout Rabbinic literature. It is also reported to be present in the act of public prayer, (Whenever ten are gathered for prayer, there Shekinah rests Talmud Sanhedrin 39a); righteous judgment (when three sit as judges, Shekinah is with them. Talmud Berachot 6a), and personal needs (The Shekinah stay headside the sick bed Talmud Shabbat 12b; . wherever they were evicted, Shekinah go with them Megillah 29a). The Talmud explains that the news or oral tradition that illuminates the ways in which the Kohen Gadol [High Priest] is to sprinkle the blood of the bull sacrifices towards Parochet [Curtain] that separates Hekhal [protection] of Hakodashim Kodesh. [And so he can do in the middle of the tent of meeting] living (shokhen) between them in the midst of their impurities (Leviticus 16:16). Even at the time when the Jews are impure, the Shekinah (Divine Presence) is with them. certain Sadducees said to Rabbi Chanina: Now [that youve removed], you must be pure, as it is written: Her filthiness is [look] at the end of her skirt. (Lamentations 1:9). He [Rabbi Chanina] said to him: Lets see what is written about them: [The Camp Meeting] who live among them in the midst of their impurities. Even at the time they are sacred, the Divine Presence is among them. -Talmud Tractate Yoma 56B The Talmud also says that the Shekhinah rests on man not through the gloom, or through laziness, or through the waste, or through levity, even through lectures, or through idle conversation, but only through some joy associated with teaching, as it is said, But now I was a lead singer. And it came to pass, when the singer played, that the hand of God came upon him. [2 Kings 3:15] [Shabbat 30b] Shekinah is associated with the transformation of the spirit of God regarded as a source of predictions. Then you come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines, and it will come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that you meet with the band prophet, down from a high place with a psaltery, and a tambourine , and pipe, and a harp, before them, and they shall prophesy. And the spirit of the Lord will come to you mightily, and you with their predictions, and should be men-1 Samuel 10:5-6 lain. The Prophet made a reference to the metaphorical vision of Gods presence, especially in the context of the Tabernacle or Temple, with figures such as thrones or robes filling the Sanctuary, which has traditionally been associated with the presence of the Shekinah. Isaiah wrote I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the Temple. (Isaiah 6:1). Jeremiah begged Do not treat the throne of your glory (Jeremiah 14:21) and referred to Thou throne of glory, the high from the beginning, place thy refuge for us (Jeremiah 17:12). Book of Ezekiel speaks of the glory of the God of Israel was there [in the Sanctuary], according to the vision that I saw in the plain. Meaning in Hassidic Judaism regards the Kabbalah, where Shekinah has a special significance, as having authority of scripture. Matronit word is also used to represent this application. The tradition of the Shekinah as the Sabbath Bride, Shabbat Kallah, to continue today. Jewish prayer, blessing 17 daily prayer, the Amidah said in Orthodox, Conservative and Reform services is Blessed are You, Lord, who returned to the side of the Almighty Allah Subhana Hu [shekinato] to Zion. Liberal Jewish prayer books for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur [ruach Machzor Chadashah] contains creative prayer based on Avinu Malkeinu, where the Shekinah feminine noun used in the interests of gender neutrality. Yiddish Songs Shekinah concept is also associated with the Holy Spirit in the Jewish tradition, as in the Yiddish song: Vel ich, shchine tsu dir kummen I, Shekinah, you will come. In the Christian tradition, it is in addition to the various accounts that indicate the presence or glory of God that is recorded in the Hebrew Bible, many Christians also consider the Shekinah becomes apparent in numerous instances in the New Testament. Eastons Bible Dictionary of the public domain, published in 1897, said, Shekinah - a Chaldean word meaning a place of fun, is not found in Scripture, but used by Jews then set the visible symbol of Gods presence in the tabernacle, and afterwards in the temple of Solomon. When God brought Israel out of Egypt, he went before them in a pillar of cloud. This is the symbol of his presence with his people. God spoke to Moses through the Shekinah out of the burning bush. For reference made to him in the wilderness adventures, see Exodus 14:20; 40:34-38; Leviticus 09:23, 24; Number 14:10; 16:19, 42. It is probable that after the entrance into Canaan this glory-cloud settled in the tent for the ark of the covenant in the most holy. We have, however, no special reference to it till the consecration of the temple by Solomon, when it filled the entire house with glory, so that the priests could not stand to minister (1 Kings 8:10-13; 2 Chr. 5: 13, 14; 7:1-3). Maybe it was the first temple in the holy of holies as the symbol of Jehovahs presence so long as the temple stood. After it is gone. The reference to the Shekinah in Christianity often see the presence and glory of God as synonymous, as illustrated in the following verse from Exodus, And Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. And the glory of Jehovah to the mountains of Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the appearance of the glory of Jehovah was like a consuming fire on the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. -Exodus 24:15-17 ASV Shekinah in the New Testament is usually equated with the presence or indwelling of God [commonly referred to as the Holy Spirit, or the Spirit of Christ] in faith, drawing similarities with the presence of the ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala in Solomons Temple. In disagreement with the Old Testament where the Holy of Holies indicate the presence of the ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala, from the New Testament, it is the Holy Spirit who reminds us of the eternal presence of the ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala. Furthermore, in the same way that the Shekhinah is linked to prophecy in Judaism, so its nothing to do in Christianity. For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but men spoke from God, moved by the Holy Spirit. -2 Peter 1:21 ASV where reference is made to the Shekinah as the manifestation of Gods glory associated with his presence, Christians find numerous occurrences in the New Testament in both literal (as in Luke 2:09 referring to the glory of God shines on the shepherds at Jesus birth) and spiritual forms (as in John 17:22, where Jesus speaks to the ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala give glory that God gave to the people). Instead it can be found in Ichabod, so named as a result of the Ark of the Covenant captured by the Philistines: glory departed from Israel (1 Samuel 04:22 KJV). Divine Presence, by the day of the ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala went before them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they can move in a day or malam.-Exodus 13:21 Raphael Patai In the work by anthropologist Raphael Patai entitled Goddess Hebrew, the author argues that the Shekhinah refers to a goddess by comparing and contrasting materials and medieval Jewish texts Kabbalistic sources. Patai interesting historical differences between the Shekhinah and Matronit. In the bestselling thriller Torah Codes by Ezra Barany, the story refers to the Shekhinah as a goddess and one of the characters is also named Patai. In the attachment is the essay by Rabbi Shefa Gold, Zvi Bellin, and Tania Schweig of the Shekhinah. The Quran mentions Sakina, or peace, refers to Gods grace and peace of aid to both Israel and the children of Muhammad s.a.w. Interestingly, Sakina, or Sakina bint Hussein, also the name of the youngest daughter of Husayn ibn Ali, the girl called first in recorded history to name. Shekhinah, often in the plural, is also present in some gnostic writings written in Aramaic, such as the writings of the Manichaean and Mandaean, and others. In writing, shekhinas described as hidden aspects of ALLAH Subhana Hu Wataala, rather like the Amahrāspandan of Zoroastrianism. Gustav Davidson, American poet Gustav Davidson listed Shekhinah as an entry in his reference work A Dictionary of Angel, stating that he was the personification of Metatron female. Lois Roden, the Branch Davidian Seventh-Day Adventist Church is acknowledged as the original teacher / prophet they 1978-1986, put emphasis on womens spirituality and the feminine aspect of God. He published a magazine, Shekinah, Shekinah is often given, in which he explored the concept that the Shekinah is the Holy Spirit. Article from Shekinah reprinted online at the Branch Davidian site.
