Sherwin Laranga shot this lens test on the GH4 in 4k mode with the FF58 + FF38. A great example of how DSO lenses have become popular with high resolution digital capture devices like the GH4. His choice of 2x oval aperture means hes stuck with a shallow dof - nearly as shallow as a wide open circular aperture @f2 since the oval height remains the same as the diameter of a round f2 aperture. However the oval is applying the same sharpening to the image quality as you get from closing a normal aperture to around f5.6 (the aperture is half as wide as it is tall -hence the 2x). This in combination with the highly corrected optics used in the FF38 wide angle attachment is creating a lens with the high resolving power needed for 4k on the GH4 (2.5x crop?) with the creamy lower contrast look which is toning down the hyper real look often yielded with 4k footage. - A look which would certainly clash with Italian food shots!
