Shes a hot-headed thing and can be strange, she had three hoses out the back before this to keep her calm but shes done the job, trainer John Moloney said after Sea Spray held off a luckless Azkadellia to land the Yellowglen Plate (1400m).Sea Spray ($4.20) enjoyed a perfect ride from Damian Lane, who settled sixth along the inside with the well-backed $2.50 favourite Azkadellia a clear last at halfway.Lane stayed near the fence around the home turn and found an opening, Sea Spray quickening up nicely while Azkadellia was held up and then forced to change direction 250 metres out.Sea Spray reached the lead 100 metres out and had enough in hand to hold the late surge from Azkadellia, who fell a head short at the line. Shacarde stayed on for third, 1-3/4 lengths off third.Sea Spray is only lightly-raced but has plenty of scope for improvement according to her trainer.I dont train her hard, she can still improve a bit. Shes still green but got a great stride on her, Moloney said. She mucked the start up but then she found a running spot, held her action and was good enough to win the race,This was a big step up for her but its good stakes money, super VOBIS and shes taken the lot,If she can train on then we might find a race for her at Flemington over the carnival.A three-year-old daughter of Von Costa De Hero, Sea Spray has won two of her five starts and earned $93,975 in prizemoney.
