Shihan Yavor Dyankovs Biography He was born on 17.01.1961 in the City of Sofia, Bulgaria. Presently he is the President of an international holding group of companies which consists of import, export, reexport, investment and barter trade with industrial goods and innovations companies. Chairman of the Bulgarian Shotokan Karate Federation which, since 1990, is an officiak representative for Bulgaria of the Japanese Karate Association (J.K.A.). Chairman of the Bulgarian Ju-Jitsu Association which, since 1989, is a member and official representative for Bulgaria of the World Ju-Jitsu Federation (W.J.J.F.) and the World Ju-Jitsu and Kobudo Organization (W.J.J.K.O.). In 2000, at the European Congress of the Japanese Karate Association held in England, he was elected unanimously for a Chairman of the Karate Federations being members of the Japanese karate Association on the Balkan Peninsula. He occupies the same office as a Chairman for the Balkan and the Baltic countries at the World Ju-Jitsu Federation and the World Ju-Jitsu and Kobudo Organization since 2012. As a school-boy he trained Judo at the Levski-Spartak Team with the famous Bulgarian trainer Tsvetan Hadzhiysky. He started to officially study Karate in 1978 under the tuition of the famous Hungarian Master Syuch Tibor 7 Dan who visited Bulgaria many times even during the period when Karate was forbidden to be practiced in the state. He defended 1st Dan (1985) before a commission of Japanese masters chaired by the eminent Karate master Masotoshi Nakayama 9 Dan who established the Japanese karate Association in 1955. This is the first Karate Union in Japan chaired for long years by Masotoshi Nakayama (1913 - 1987) direct student of the father of Modern Karate - Do Gichin Funakoshi (1868 - 1957). Then follows defending 2 Dan, 3 Dan, 4 Dan and 5 Dan in Karate Shotokan before commissions of the Japanese Karate Association chaired by the eminent Japanese Karate - teachers: Norihiko Ida 8 Dan - the only Dzen -- Budist monk in the Japan Karate Association, Satoshi Miyadzaki 7 Dan, Yasuiki Fudzhinaga 6 Dan, Sadashige Kato 8 Dan, and Tetsuike Asay 8 Dan. This makes Shihan Yavor Dyankov the first and highest Dan in Bulgaria, internationally recognized through diplomas handed him by the Japanese Karate Association. He participated in different contests and tournaments in Bulgaria and abroad where he won numerous successes. A peak in his sports career is his election as a captain of the European team in Kumite for the match with Japan for the Ibus Cup in Shotokan held in 1987 in Hungary. Then was the first time when Europe won as a team against Japan, which was a sensation for the time. In 1987 he left for Russia (USSR at the time) under a recommendation by the Japanese Karate Association, where he assisted in the establishment of a Karate Organization. He visited numerous cities and schools where he acquainted not only with the life and the spirituality of the Russian martial arts, but also with their traditions. In 1986 he started to practice Ju-Jitsu under the tuition of the eminent Hungarian specialist Istvan Keleman 7 Dan who visited Bulgaria many times. Later he became a student of the eminent German master Zigi Weiss 8 Dan and the Swiss master Robert Schenk 6 Dan who visits Bulgaria since 1989 in order to hold workshops. He participated in the most authentic international workshops held up to this moment in the world of Ju-Jitsu under the tuition of worldwide famous masters. He defended 1 Dan, 2 Dan, 3 Dan, 5 Dan, and 6 Dan in Ju-Jitsu before a commissionof the World Ju-Jitsu Federation which makes him the highest Dan in Bulgaria in this Japanese martial art too. In 1993 he was elected by the World Ju-Jitsu Federation as a Chief Coordinator for Russia, Ukraine and Estonia where he teaches this ancient Japanese martial art. His students as Bulgarian, as well as foreign ones, participate in numerous contests and tournaments in Bulgaria and abroad, where they won many gold, silver and bronze medals from different national, European and World tournaments. He assisted in the recognition of Aikido, Kendo, Karate styles Wado-Ryu and Goju-Ryu in Bulgaria under international programs with Japan. His Karate organization received assistance under the line of Karate Master which was realized within the period 1999 - 2001 when Sensei Takuyaso Nozawa 3 Dan came to Bulgariaunder a program of Japanese volunteers in Bulgaria. He attended and held a number of workshops and lectures in karate in different Bulgarian cities. He was also the first to implement, organize, and participate in the free fights in Bulgaria in mixed martial arts. He is a specialist in Anti-terrorist activity where he trains the specialized police and military anti-terrorist special divisions as in Bulgaria, and also abroad. His students acted in different hot spots and specialized missions worldwide. In relation to this activity of his, he was awarded numerous Bulgarian and international government awards. As a contributor in the periodical press he has published numerous articles in Bulgaria and abroad concerning the issues of the martial arts. He is author, translator and editor of different books: Led Zeppelin (translation in Bulgarian, 1990); Classic Karate-do (1991); Karate-do the Route of my Life (translation in Bulgarian, 1992); The Doors of the Phylosophy of Life (a book of poetry - 11993); Self-defense for Everyone (1994); Spirit without Chains (translation, 1995); The Letters of a Dzen Monk to the Master of the Sword (translation, 1996); The Open Doors of Karate-do (translation, 1997); Martial Arts and Health (advisor, 1998). The following books are under preparation: Classic Karate-do - Figt Techniques; Ju-Jigtsu - Specialized Police Techniques; Bubishi - The Bible of Karate” (translation); “Classic Karate-do - The Katas and their Implementations, Relation between Ju-Jitsu and the Mixed Martial Arts - History and Techniques and “The Science of Biomechanics in Ju-Jitsu”. Due to his organization, publishing, publicist, scientific, and sports activities, Shihan Yavor Dyankov was included in the first unique issue of the Encyclopedia Eminent People of the 20th Century, p. 142, issued by the International Biographical Center in Cambridge, England.
