Shock Treatment (1981) Its that magical time of year... To celebrate Halloween, and not bore you with the usual films played to death around this time; I present to you Shock Treatment. Another goody from Writer/Creator Richard OBrien and directed by Jim Sharman (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), this one acts as a sister film (NOT a sequel or prequel) to The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Select few actors from Rocky, came back in different roles. The cast consisted of Richard OBrien, Patricia Quinn, Little Nell & Charles Gray. Cliff De Young (The Craft, The Hunger) picked up the roll of Brad Majors & Jessica Harper (Suspiria, Minority Report) portrayed Janet Weiss. Quick Rundown: We find ourselves, yet again, following the lovable but ill-fated Brad Majors & Janet Weiss. Instead of stumbling upon a castle, they end up contestants on a game show and with their luck, get held against their will in an insane asylum. This like Rocky Horror before it, was a musical, except the songs are no where near as catchy or memorable. Although Shock Treatment cant hold a candle to the Rocky Horror Picture Show, you should watch at least once to see what else came out of OBriens cranium. Where to Watch It: Click the link below.
