Shop online? See these *TIPS* to stay as safe as possible. Weve seen so many friends sharing links on their timeline for sites like the RayBan OnlineStore believing these to be genuine. Wed hate to see anyone get stung so thought wed put together a bit of advice: > If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. > Where is the site registered? Always check them out at sites like domaintools. Paste in the web address and it will tell you where they are registered, to who and how long for. This should be an indication of how legitimate they are. The link weve already mentioned, was created in March 2014 so it is clearly not the genuine RayBan store. > Check their site out for contact information. No telephone number? How about online chat or an address which can be verified with a postcode finder at Royal Mail (or similar). > How secure is their payment information page? Before entering payment details on a website, ensure that the link is secure. There should be a padlock symbol in the browser window frame. Web addresses beginning with https:// (the s stands for secure). Be sure that the padlock is not on the page itself as this will probably indicate a fraudulent site. > Use credit cards if payments are over £100 or debit cards if your bank is part of the Visa Chargeback Scheme. If PayPal is available, consider that. Always check your bank statements periodically. > Ask friends/family if theyve used them before (or post on the page and we are sure the community will be able to help) > Check out the Privacy Policy and their About Us pages. If it looks like theyve just pulled this from another site they clearly arent genuine. How far does it go with its information? If youve any other tips, pop them in the comments below :)
