Shopping in a grocery store on a busy saturday is like this crazy slow motion dance of non acknowledgment. Rarely is eye contact made. But you can see everything out of the corners of your eyes. Everyone is always in each others ways. So out of the corner of my eye i see a lady coming around the corner, so I pause. She nods. I am pushing my cart down the straight a-way and someone else is coming towards me. its this face off of who will swerve to avoid the other first, with no eye contact. when someone is blocking the aisle, we wait with eyes boring into the cart in the way. The owner comes back and we huff and go around them. Its so odd. strangers, all buying stuff, all in each others ways, all swerving and swaying around each other, never knowing whats going on in each others lives. weird and funny
