Short Devotions Thru Philippians: Day 1- September 3, 2014 Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:1-2 KJV) Paul most always mentions grace and peace when he begins a letter to the saints of the Lords churches. It is not saving grace he is referring to, but living grace. We all need the grace and help of Jesus to follow Christ and make godly decisions. When we stumble it is the grace of God that picks us up and keeps us in the Way. Grace enables the believer to focus and live out the will of God instead of another will. His grace brings great peace to our hearts. Without grace and favor there is only guilt and restlessness. Thank God for his grace and peace today. In what ways have you observed the grace of God in your life lately? Is there another will or desire pulling you away from Gods plan? Write down your prayer to God about one area that you particularly need the grace of God in this chapter of your life.
