Short Story by Arnie titled, Mr. Bloxom, I GOT TO PEE All of a sudden Im having flashbacks of a time pasted and in reality my mind is drifting back to the 40s. Maybe its because Im now living near Orange Beach, Al. and as I see the white caps beating along the the shore line i remember the Chesapeake Bay when i was a kid. Boy, they were great memories, going to the same school building for 12 years, grammer school down stairs and high schools up stairs.Oh, by the way the town was a small waterfront community called Cape Charles, Va. As I look back, I laugh at myself at the messes i got in. I remember Mom and me riding on those old Red Star Buses from Cape Charles to Ts Corner Virginia to visit my Mom Mom & Pop Pop on Chincteague Island, Va. (the home of Misty). Im sure anyone who was coming from Norfolk to anywhere north, up US13, knows where Ts Corner was. Well, on this summer day Mom and I were going to visit Mom Mom & Pop Pop for a few days and we were going to take the bus. The trip was about sixty miles and Mom and i would make the trip about once a month.and it would take about three hours with all the stopping and starting, but, I didnt mind, I was going to Chincoteague. Oh, no, today, ive got to sit on Moms lap, because there are no extra seats available. I liked it when the bus wasnt so crowded, because I could sit anywhere i wanted and Mom liked it because it was free. But, when it was full, I had to sit in her lap or pay. Then it would happen, I would have to go Pee and those old Red Star Buses didnt have bathrooms like those Grayhounds did. I would ask Mom, how much longer and she would always answer, youll just have to wait. On this day I really had to go bad. I couldnt wait! The only solution I could figure out was to get the driver attention and to get him to stop. Then I yelled out, Mr. Bloxom, will you please stop this bus, I got to Pee. Of course this brought forth quite a response of laughter from the patrons of the Red Star Bus Line. He stopped, and there just happen to be a corn field and I relieved myself and everybody lived happly everafter. The Bible says in James 4:2, yet,ye have not, because ye ask not. Well, I asked and I received, so for me at a young age, I believe and I received! Arnie Hudgins
