So Ive been a bit quiet recently mostly because I havent had anything positive to share - its been a tough few days for too many reasons. But today 1 really good thing happened and an unexpected trick of fate took me somewhere i never ever wanted or expected to go again...... Lets do the really good thing first :-) If you ever need a repair to your audio system get in touch with Dan at prscardiff.co.uk/ He just resurrected my beloved Denon amp for a very small charge so now i have my music back and my house feels a bit more like home again. A good sound system with my entire record collection is or would be Nr 1 on my desert island discs requirements. And the trick of fate? In my recently discovered (actually it was dumped on me by a teflon coated colleague) role as Conservation Architect to Her Majestys Court Service for Wales and the Midlands Ive been visiting a bunch of mostly spectacular listed buildings and assessing their condition and making recommendations for repairs. Its quite a fun thing to do - no liability or stress and it gets me out and about a lot in my motor. Today though I got to inspect Cardiff County Court - scene of divorce #2 4 years ago. Before today it was always a scary building to me, full of sadness and anger (and despicable blood sucking lawyers). Going into the room where things got settled after the most terrible 4 years of my life was tough but I feel strong for going into it, doing my job and not chickening out and pretending Id inspected it. As it turned out its in fine condition and I had almost no recollection of what it looked like 4 years ago anyway. Strange how this summer is seeing so many of my ghosts and fears get confronted and stared down. Ghosts are wimps and after all this time I finally realise they are not at all frightening really - they run and hide when you face them but they assume power when you try to hide from them. Time to get amongst the living eh? Happy Thursday everyone, Im getting my old vinyl disks out for a thrashing tonight :-) :-)
