Funding through the Combined Federal Campaign (#45882) affords us a unique opportunity to enhance the athletic experience of physically challenged athletes and the educational experience of the students at area schools. The Maryland Ravens are in the midst of exciting times, with a strengthened commitment to academic involvement. In our local schools, our disabled athletes play an important role demonstrating that "you can achieve your goals (if they are attainable) despite life’s physical and/or mental challenges." In fact, Baltimore County’s Commission on Disabilities selected Maryland Ravens as the 2003 Disability Awareness Program. As the cost of adaptive equipment (i.e., wheelchairs, tires, inner tubes, spokes, spoke protectors, rental vehicles, etc.) and program costs continue to rise, so does the cost of funding successful nonprofit organizations like Maryland Ravens, Inc. To meet this financial challenge, the Maryland Ravens rely heavily on gifts from individuals, organizations and the Chesapeake Bay Area Combined Federal Campaign to support athletic programs, abilities awareness programs, and other operational costs.
