Shots fired into home – Smithfield Police in Sydney’s west have commenced inquiries after shots were fired at Smithfield. Police were called to Reserve Street just after 10.30pm (Friday 1 August 2014) following reports a number of shots had been fired into a home. Officers from Fairfield Local Area Command attended and found damage to the front of the house. No one was injured. A crime scene is being established and a search of the area is being conducted with assistance from specialist commands and the Dog Unit. A Mitsubishi Mirage was seen leaving the area after the incident. Anyone who witnessed it, or suspicious activity in the area, is urged to contact police.
