Should I consider home tuition or group tuition? There are only two options. The first option is to engage a home tutor . The student will be given more attention. However, there is no lesson plan and it is not so easy to find a good and reliable home tutor. The second option is to join a tuition center that specializes in the subject. The center will design the scheme of work and issue their copyrighted notes, tests and exams. You can leave everything to the tutor and trust that he has the experience and track record to help you achieve what you want with the minimum effort. The center with a good track record has the experience to know how to succeed. You get the best tutor but yet at an affordable price as you share the cost with the rest of the class. Parents and students understand that the ‘A’ level is just a short 2 years. So it is critical that students join a center that has good tutors to ensure that students learn effectively. Honestly, there is no third option where the student can choose a well known tutor who can teach and produce results, but with a small class size or will offer individual home tuition. Class size of popular tutors will not be small. We understand and learn through experience that class size is determined by the quality of the tutor. Parents and students will not join a center just because the fee is cheap. In the tuition business, the fee and class size is proportional to the quality of the tutor. Naturally, popular tutors will not offer home tuition just as it would be very difficult to engage a well known surgeon in Singapore to pay us a home visit. We do not expect a short queue for a popular hawker stall in Singapore.
