Should the Melbourne #Rikshaws go ahead? We spoke to Melbourne Bike Cabs and they provided us a blog you can read here: cycle.org.au/index.php/rambles/the-big-issues/156-bikecabsinmelb They are a novel idea, they are not what you would think either, an electric motor aides the rider at speeds up to 20km/h means that they can go as fast as most commuters in the CBD, and faster than the cars. We are hesitate to say they are a bike, but as long as the bike lanes are clear, they should be welcomed. Now we say this on a trial basis, but what is Melbourne really afraid of? seeing cycling as transporter of people as well as way for individuals to get around. Come on, this could be a start of people ferrying themselves around by Melbourne Bike Share bikes.
