Should you need to live in a country to be granted citizenship? Malta is planning to hand over EU passports to anyone donating more than 895 000 dollars to a national development fund - without a residency requirement. Im James Coomarasamy and on World Update today well be asking whether the worlds richest people should be able to circumvent visa regimes and waiting lists for the right price. Is there any benefit to citizens of countries with these kinds of policies? Would you encourage them where you are? Or are they helping to create places which let in the rich, but keep out the poor?
