#ShoutOutsOfTheWeek Honestly, I was a little disappointed with - TopicsExpress

#ShoutOutsOfTheWeek Honestly, I was a little disappointed with the entries and the effort this week. Couldn’t carry very many entries because a lot of them didn’t seem worth it. I know this was an abstract theme, something rather hard to write stories about. But what I precisely want to do is that. To throw you out of your comfort zones once in a while to see what grows. To make you think fresh. Shoot fresh. And write fresh. Of course it will be wrong to not mention the ones who did send in stellar entries. But on the whole I expected a LOT better quality. Also, active engagement, cheers and appreciation for each other. I didn’t see that happening a lot this week at all. Like it does in the other weeks. Please come back stronger and more positively charged coming week. You have raised the bar for yourselves. Therefore, I am expecting a lot more from you now. :) Here are my favourites from the ‘Green’ bucket: Gururaj Rao: I think a lot of you missed this entry. If you did, please God please go back and look at it. It’s a poem that is made of some very special magic. As is the poet. Guru man, you always know how. I can’t tell you how glad I am for having you. :) Sundar Shankar: All three shots and write-ups touched very deep chords. All different tones of voices. And a solid control over the theme at all times. Very proud of you. Keep it up. Harshad Rajadhyaksha: All your entries are always stellar! But the Poetry shot was SO trippy! Where did you shoot it? And HOW? :) I’m sure many want to know! You are such a lesson in learning always. :) Nilesh Mondal: Sometimes your darkness scares me. And it’s BLOODY hard to believe that the things you are writing are actually all figments of your imagination! Maybe some are not. But your darkness inspires me. And makes me search for my own, to write with. Thank you. For this walk into myself. Thank you. Ritu Nichani: Tere baare mein kya keh dun jo nahi kaha hai? :) One of the things that makes your writing more enjoyable always, is that I hear the words. In your voice. You’re beginning to ‘speak’. To express. Not try too hard. To write. And I’m very proud of that. Green as Hope | Faith | Fertility was my favourite for this theme. :) Ramesh Nichani: Uncle, I have known your family close enough to say one thing very safely. You feel. You don’t pretend to write or talk or shoot well. You have feelings. Just feelings. And that transcend everything else. Thank you for blessing me with the three of you. I owe you whatever I have. Amrita Gvalani: Your writings always manages to touch. Move. Jolt. Sooth. And so much else. Sometimes, I wish I could write like that. Simple. Lucid. Bold and strong. Thank you for being around. Just send your copy and picture together from the coming theme. It’s easier to check that way. And for some reason, all your entries come to me multiple times. If there’s any way of fixing that, please do. :) Amish Shah: I’ve told you before and I’m saying it again. Brilliant photography. But you need to put a little more effort in your writing. Would add SO much to the shot that way. Nothing like personal anecdotal slices. No one can replicate that for you. :) Jiya Jaisingh: You are growing up. That’s all I have to say. :) Kinnari Sanghvi: Touching entry. I don’t really know you, but your words stay. And that’s a huge compliment for a stranger. Who never feels like a stranger. Because of her words. :) Samrat Rahi: Your poetry always moves. Though this time’s poems weren’t top notch as they normally are. I expect a different standard altogether from you. :) Joel Thottan: Brilliant shot. Yours was the only aberration to this theme. I didn’t carry entries which depicted ONLY the colour green. But your thought was really fresh. And the shot was gorgeous. So here you are. :) M: What do I say about you man. I get tempted to tell the world about you all the time. To tell them, “GO and stalk this brilliant thing! And tell her, tell her how good she is!” You are gifted. And very generously at that. :) You owe us your gift. So stay right here! Soumya Tiwari: One of the most moving stories in this theme was yours. I’ve never had anyone in the army from my family. But I felt so close to that feeling. Very well done. Himanish Bhattacharjee: I’ve already told you this. And I’m saying it again. Your words are effortless. Or so they always seem. Stay close, you! Looking forward to many more slices of awesome from you! :) Kruttika Nadig: I always find a new flavour in your writing every time. Heidi’s post was delightful. I’m sure she smiled when you remembered her. :) Shivanee Harshey: Very simple words. But very profound thought. So glad to have you back! :) Vasu Agrawal: Shot!!! I was really toying about carrying that shot as the Sniper’s shot of the week. Very well done. I am looking forward to more dhansu writing from you. I know you have it there. :) Ankita Keshari: One of the most touching pieces of this theme. I loved some bits in your writing. It had a beautiful flight. And left a very long smile. Keep it up. Welcome home. :) Alankar Ganguly: Your first shot, The Wild, Manali was stunning! It stayed with me for the longest time. You could work a little harder on your writing perhaps. Just take a little care with the craft. But you’re getting there. I know you are. :) [ Please use the comment string to adequately appreciate each other. Whoever deserves. Youve no idea how much this can mean for that person. And how good gratitude feels. Someone may have moved you, touched you, made you smile, made you cry. So TELL them that. Tell them. Right here. :) ]
