Show Jumping Report Oct 2014 On Sunday 5th October, Langley School Equestrian Team took part in an NSEA show jumping competition held at Overa Farm, Snetterton. The first class of the day was the 40cm which Oliver Kidner, Charlie Turner & Izzie Turner took part in. With all three jumping fantastic double clears, it placed the team placed as 2nd. Oliver’s speedy time won him the class individually and Charlie placed 6th. Next it was the 50cm and the three were joined by Lily Spruce. Once again all four riders pulled off fast double clears, which resulted in a win for Langley! It was another win for Oliver individually and Izzie was not far behind in 4th place. The 60cm was next and the Langley team comprised of Oliver Kidner, Evie Matthews, Zoe Campling & Lily Spruce. With both Oliver & Lily jumping double clear and Evie & Zoe with just 4 faults each, this left the team with a good enough score for 2nd place. Once again Oliver won the class and Lily placed 4th individually. Langley had entered two teams in the 70cm class and the ‘white’ team consisted of Joseph Deane, Oliver Kidner & Evie Matthews. All three jumped fast double clears leaving the team in a very comfortable position. The ‘green’ team of Lily Matthews, Zoe Campling & Oliver Kidner continued this great form by also all jumping double clear. The final results saw Langley white take the top spot and the green team take 3rd place, which out of 8 teams from across East Anglia was a fantastic achievement! Individually Oliver placed 2nd and Joseph was 4th. The next class was the 80cm which again Langley had entered two teams for. Joseph, Oliver & Bella Matthews-Cook joined to form the white team and Joseph and Oliver riding their second ponies joined Lily Matthews-Cook to create the green team. With only Joseph and Oliver managing to pull off double clears, the white team took 4th place and the green team placed 5th. Oliver placed 4th individually. The penultimate class of the day was the 90cm which saw Bella, Lily and Oliver jump brilliant rounds to claim team 1st place and individual 4th for Bella. The final class of the day was the 100cm and Bella jumped yet another skilful round to make it another win for Langley. Congratulations to all who took part in this very successful and enjoyable event.
