After the official confirmation by the US Senate that the CIA has committed tortures, lied to the President of the US and hacked US Senators computers to limitate the content of the sad raport we can now read, Eisenhower´s words are still updated: Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite. In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted.
