Sickle cell fact number 7: I can have a sickle cell crisis wherever blood flows throughout my body and guess where that is? EVERYWHERE!!! I have had a sickle cell crisis everywhere from my head to my tail bone to my feet and everywhere in between. I cant even say which one was worse than the others because they are all pretty bad. I can barely move when I have a crisis. I fight to get out of bed, to get dressed and to get to work. Even though my job and my bosses understand and know about my illness I still force myself to go to work until the pain gets to the point where I can no longer walk or move. Of course I get yelled at by the entire management team and every one else at work not to mention my family. I just dont like people thinking I use my illness as a way to get out of doing my work. I try my best to work just as hard as every one else its just I have limitations on the things I can do. Sometimes Im too hard on myself especially if Im trying to meet a deadline at work. I dont like to disappoint anyone but sometimes what they ask of me is simply and physically impossible. I still try my best to do what is asked of me even though I end up paying for it health wise.
