Siding has been chosen. I can have metal around the lower parameter of the home. Bridger Steel had far more options than what was presented to me originally. Im happy about that. Ill be reducing my weight 250lbs by not having that additional cedar, not to mention much less staining to do and more aesthetic interest. I just hope the metal chosen looks good. Its a corrugated steel with a painted rust-like texture. I asked about the rusting corrugated metal thinking it rust up to a certain point and stops. Nope. It rust all the way through, albeit it takes 30 years. Why are people paying extra money for metal that rust all the way through???Not cheap...Bozeman is going to look like a shanty town in 30 years...very strange. Anyway Im having a hard time envisioning this stuff but theyre telling me it will look great. Being the OCD designer I am, Im going to trust them on their recommendation. I hope I dont end up hating it. Anyway, siding will go on within the next two weeks. LP line will go in that same day as well as the finished roughing of electrical which means Ill be ready to insulate. Water plumbing will go on the inside of the finished wall inside the kitchen cabinets (to reduce freezing) so no need to worry right now. In the meantime, tomorrow Im closing up the hole in the back wall as Ive chosen not to do a utility box. Hopefully Ill be able to get the pocket door installed and the interior wall built tomorrow. Ill also be placing all the electrical gang boxes in their dutiful places. I put the awesome custom built cabinets from the Flooring Place inside the house last night. The space changes dramatically. I so cant wait to get my paperstone countertop in! Oh yeah...cooking device...Im really digging those induction burners! Just have to make sure the solar system can handle it. Finally, Ill be pulling the cedar I do have out of the workspace cleaning and scrubbing it down outside to get it ready for its final destination. Its supposed to be 80 degrees tomorrow, rain this weekend and snow next week. Gotta love MTs bipolar weather, at least its pushing me to get things done.
