Sienna X spray tanning works by using a solution that contains Dihdroxyacetone (DHA) its a colourless sugar and the active ingredient in the guide coloured solution will be sprayed onto your skin using a specialist low pressure spraying machine. The DHA in the solution interacts with the proteins and amino acids in the outer layer of your skin to produce a golden brown colour. After your spray tan the colour you see is a guide colour and not the overall colour that you will go. Your tan is developing underneath the guide colour. After your eight hours development time you will have a shower and wash off the guide colour and your actual tan will be revealed. A Sienna X spray tan gives the same results as spending 10-14 days in the natural sun but without the harmful effects of the suns rays. After your therapist has completed a consultation with you and applied barrier cream to your hands, elbows, knees, feet and any other dry areas you may have (this reduces tan absorption to dry areas) you will be given your spray tan. This take approximately 10 minutes and your therapist will guide you on what position you will need to be to ensure even coverage. Your tan results will depend on how well you tan naturally. The darker you tan in the sun, the darker you tan with Sienna X. However your therapist will have a range of solutions and will help bespoke your ideal tan. You can have a second tanning treatment within 48 hours of your first tanning treatment and this will help you go darker with superior results! Your tan will last approximately 5-7 days depending on your skin regime and if you have exfoliated well prior to your tan. I personally recommend Siennas Polishing body scrub the day before you have your tan, it leaves skin soft, is PH balanced and smells divine! I also recommend Siennas Balance body wash and radiance body balm to help prolong your tan. The body balm enhances your tan with a luminescent sheen, and again like all of Siennas products they smell delicious! Remember you still need to use sun protection with a sienna x tan with an SPF 20 or more. The good thing is you will still tan naturally in the sun with a sienna x tan.
