Sierra Club action to protect Greeley from fracking: Please act - TopicsExpress

Sierra Club action to protect Greeley from fracking: Please act immediately to tell Governor Hickenlooper to stop hazardous drilling and fracking projects from being sited near homes, schools and waterways. Please also forward this email to your friends and family, and share this link on your social networks so others can do the same. We are asking the Governor to tell his Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) to reject projects that subject communities to unacceptable surface impacts and health risks, starting by protecting Greeley from a massive expansion of drilling operations in a high-density neighborhood near Northridge High School. The COGCC is poised to grant a permit for Synergy to drill and frack 12 new horizontal wells and place 27 tanks containing toxic and flammable fluids along the Sheep Draw trail near Northridge, exposing students and nearby residents to health risks from toxic fumes and spills, and threatening the Sheep Draw wetland. Please join us in calling on the Governor to tell the COGCC to reject this poorly-sited project. Go to the Governor’s contact page at colorado.gov/govhdir/requests/opinion.html to send your own message or paste-in the message below. Personalizing your message will increase it’s effectiveness.
