Sigh, my curry wouldve been so much nicer tonight if someone hadnt dropped my last jar of slow cooked beef broth and smashed it on the floor... :*( Never mind. Curry-in a Hurry in the Thermomix, with sticky rice cooking on top in the Varoma at the same time - worked great!! (Other than the broth incident...) :) If youd like to try it, heres how: - Soak 400g-800g sticky rice (glutinous rice) for at least 6 hours in water. - Start the curry, using this very versatile recipe - except use 700g broth/water/tomato puree altogether (instead of 500g), and 600g veges, and set timer for 30 mins/Varoma/rev/speed 1. quirkycooking.blogspot.au/2009/02/never-same-curry-in-hurry.html - Pour rice into the Varoma dish (in the sink) and rinse well. Poke a hole in the middle of the rice to let the air through. Set on top of bowl to cook. Thats it! Serves 6 or so :) Note: you can get sticky rice/glutinous rice in the Asian section of the supermarket or at Asian stores, and no it doesnt contain gluten if youre wondering. :)
