Sigh....waking up in our home isnt the same when half of my family is missing. Yesterday we went in to have Willow admitted at PCH. Her appointment was at 10:30. Her numbers were good , but they told us that they couldnt admit her yet since they didnt have a room available yet, so they said to just go to radiation and they would call us when a room was ready. Dr Watanabe showed me the huge, nasty looking mouth burn on the inside of her cheek that is from radiation. It was horrendous. I asked about her tongue being white recently and her not tasting very well. He told us that her taste buds had-LITERALL-sloughed off, but that they would grow back later. So unfair.... On our way out, we got to meet the lovely Courtney who has been one of our Warriors for some time. Her own daughter has heart issues, but this sweetheart still makes sure to get out there and support so many other kids and families. I loved her immediately!! Also go to see our favorite family, the Barbers, whose daughters each have an issue. MolleeJo has epilepsy, and Mylei has GI issues and is Lilys best friend. Jessi, their mom, was so sweet and offered to steal Lily for the night. :) We made it to radiation on time with plans to get in and out, then finally go get some lunch. That was not in the plans...puters were down and the clinic said we wouldnt get in for at least another 45 minutes. Ugh, great. Willow is starving (as were we all) at this time. Appointment was at 1:15, didnt get to leave until about 2:45. Willow wanted Chinese food, so we picked that up on the way home, where i ran in to grab sleepover gear for Lily and run back to the hospital to drop off Lily, get admitted and then finally eat!! We got to her room just before five. Not sure if Willow or I scarfed our food down faster. Between being in a car with no A/C for half the day and not getting time for lunch until that late, we were so weary....and now my pixie is in the hospital for the next five days and I miss her like crazy!
