Sign designers part in the Great British Bake Off - First published in News Last updated by Flossie Mainwaring-Taylor A DESIGNER from Ulverston was shocked when he saw one of his creations in the Great British Bake Off final. Chris Brammall, who owns Chris Brammall Ltd, was watching the BBC1 finale with his daughter when his design was made in cake form by finalist Luis Troyano. I was sat watching it with my daughter and I thought thats my sign - it was quite funny, said Mr Brammall, who has owned the Cumbrian business for 20 years. MORE TOP STORIES: He designed the sign for Poynton, Cheshire, in 2011 and said he was glad it had inspired Mr Troyano. We did four signs in 2011 and 2012 for Poynton at a cross roads, with each one being for a different industry in the area. One was mining, one aeronautical, one agriculture and one rail, he added. They are all as you approach the town centre, and the one he chose was the mining one. Mr Brammall, who moved location from Graythwaite to Ulverston 10 years ago said it was great for business and the company has since been followed on Twitter by the popular TV programmes runner up in the final episode watched by around nine million viewers.
