Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling has promised to make every Sikkimese a ‘crorepati’ if he or she votes for his Sikkim Democratic Front in the April 12 Lok Sabha election, inviting criticism from his opponents. “We will work diligently in the coming days to make every Sikkimese a crorepati in our future role,” claims the manifesto of the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF). In spite of being treated human the bonafide natives has lost even their livelihood thus becoming the victim of single handed dictatorial decisions. Greenfield might be the development step but the aftermath is uncared here. The horrible roads all around , water scarcity especially in south district , unpaid salary to the employees , bedless government run hospitals, worthless education system and many more failures has prooved the fifth term inception is no longer a promise based chair. If we go minutely in medical fascilities , most of the hospitals even in district headquarters are lacking of transport for seriously sick patients if they gets referred. I have seen most of the toilets meant for patients are often locked because of water crisis at almost all hospitals throught the state. No proper medication and rude behaviour of staff often make obstenant to drag down the patients to private nursing homes at Siliguri. And I dont see any path for our Sikkimese people to become crorepati till another five years. So, Instead of taking fortuners for their comfort , it would be better if the concerned MLAs and Ministers may have given mobile vans for the patients at PHC and District General Hospitals for their easy transport. And instead of giving such false promises government must take serious steps at least we may feel proud to be Sikkimese.
