Silent Sunday Pt. 46! Hello again, I’m freshly back home from a great week in Japan and basically just in time for a new (the 46th!) edition of this little Sunday blog… Today, more than giving you a “hot new band tip”, I would like to remind you to hear and dig US Thrash Metallers Death Angel (https://facebook/deathangel) I’ve been a fan of these Bay Area legends mainly due to their breathtaking debut album “The Ultra-Violence” (from 1987), but it was especially their latest album release, “The Dream Calls For Blood” (2013), which lead me pen these words about them now. I seriously think it’s Death Angel’s best release since their comeback in 2001 (which by the way happened at the “Thrash Of The Titans” benefit event in San Francisco, which I was lucky enough to have attended…what a night!!!) and probably also one of the best Thrash Metal releases in the past years. Death Angel are not only some of the nicest bunch Dew-Scented have ever toured with, but they also are an impressive and inspiring live-band: They truly manage to set stages on fire and obtain the audiences’ undivided attention with a very organic and powerful performance, night after night. Anyways, those old schoolers amongst you who haven’t given “The Dream Calls For Blood” a proper listen (because “only the stuff from the 80’s rules”), please go out and do that asap. And those of you who aren’t too familiar with Death Angel yet for whatever reason…Well, it’s about time, huh?!!?!
